The Blitzburgh Steelheads are one of the teams in Mutant Football League. They are a parody of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Their logo is demon skull with blonde flowing hair and a spiked iron helmet on top of it. The Steelheads were originally locked in the PC version of the game (unlocked by winning one game) but is now unlocked as of the Dynasty Update. The team was always unlocked in the console versions. Their stadium is Three Mile Island Stadium situated in Steeltown, Pittsvillevania and is a parody of both Three Rivers Stadium, the former home of the Steelers, and the Three Mile Island nuclear power station, also in Pennsylvania, which suffered an infamous incident in 1979.
Led by MVP quarterback Sven RottenBurger, All-Star receiver, Hambonio Crown and running back, Invader VonHell, the Steelheads have one of the most potent offenses in the league. On defense they are stout up front, but have a weak secondary who can give up big plays. Blitzburgh is a blue collar team with a loyal fan base, proud history and are always in contention for a Championship. This could be their year. - (Mutant Football League, Team Scouting)

- The team is a spiritual successor to the Psycho Slashers from the original Mutant League Football.
- They are one of the four teams that don't have Mutant-Humans. The other three are the Vultures, the Evils and the Panzers.
- In real life, the steelhead is a type of trout that can be found on the west coast of the United States, despite the team being from the eastern US.
- Coincidentally, there is a team in the ECHL called the Idaho Steelheads.
